GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The SCDOT said Monday that drivers on both sides of I-85 should expect detours at the I-385 interchange beginning Monday night.

The detours will allow construction crews to continue to build new bridges and structures as part of the I-85/385 Gateway Project.

Officials said all traffic on both I-85 North and Southwill be detoured at the Exit 51 ramps and must take the collector/distributor lanes to return to the main interstate.

The tentative schedule for these detours is Monday, Thursday and Friday nights, weather permitting. Detours will begin at 10 p.m. and should be removed by 5 a.m.
Drivers are asked to use extreme caution during these times and look for both road signs and digital message boards.
