Well above average temperatures (nearing records) will continue ahead of big changes for the weekend.
Today features gradual clearing in the mountains while the Upstate could see clouds hang tougher. Afternoon highs should still reach the 70s, possibly tying or breaking records.
Friday brings warmer conditions to the Upstate as highs soar into the upper 70s ahead of a cold front. This front will be scattered to numerous showers to the mountains by afternoon and only spotty rain in the Upstate toward evening.
Another “wedge” of colder air arrives Saturday, and highs tumble back into the 40s to low 50s as a result. Rain is a good bet as well, particularly after lunch into the evening.
Conditions stay relatively humid Sunday into next week, but despite this, rain chances remain relatively low. High temperatures in the afternoon remain generally above average.
