SLED investigating shot fired by Anderson Co. deputy during foot chase

ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating an incident on Thursday involving gunfire from a deputy.

SLED said a traffic stop resulted in a foot chase. According to agents, a deputy from Anderson County Sheriff's Office fired his gun during a confrontation following the chase.

SLED said the investigation into the incident, which is the sixth officer-involved shooting in SC in 2018, is ongoing.

FOX Carolina has reached out to the Anderson County Sheriff's Office for additional information.
