CHEROKEE COUNTY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Cherokee County Coroner's Office says a pedestrian was struck and killed Saturday night.

The coroner said the victim was walking along S.C. Highway 11 when he was killed.

The victim was identified as 44-year-old David Harmon Joseph Johnson of Gaffney.

According to the coroner, Johnson was struck at 7:40 p.m. by a 2001 Ford F-250 pick-up truck. He was heading home after leaving the Dollar General on Bonner Road when he was struck, the coroner said.

The driver of the truck and an 11-year-old passenger were taken to Spartanburg Regional for non-life threatening injuries, the coroner said.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
