BOILING SPRINGS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said a deputy used his stun gun while dealing with a naked, combative suspect on Sunday.

Deputies were dispatched to a crash near Bible Church Road and McMillin Boulevard when they received multiple calls reporting a driver of the car ran away from the scene naked.

When deputies arrived, they said they found 22-year-old Joseph Namonyuk sitting on a curb near Va Du Mar park, unclothed and covered in blood.

According to the incident report, the suspect would not respond to questions and urinated in public view. He also refused attempts for first responders to cover him in a blanket.

The report states that when Namonyuk began behaving aggressively and charged at a deputy, a deputy on scene deployed his Taser.

Namonyuk was taken into custody and transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was later released and charged with reckless driving and indecent exposure.
