LIBERTY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Pickens County Schools said there is no lockdown at Liberty High School after concerned parents contacted FOX Carolina on Tuesday.

According to the district, over the weekend rumors were circulating of a Snapchat threat but it was involving a Liberty High in Florida.

The district sent a reminder to parents on Friday that all Pickens County schools are on a modified lockdown - meaning all exterior doors are locked and interior doors remain closed.

The modified lockdown has been policy since the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown, CT.
