SPARTANBURG COUNTY (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies say a man has been arrested after pointing a gun at two Holly Springs firefighters.

Deputies said 82-year-old Frederick D. Clary of Lyman was arrested in connection with the incident.

According to the sheriff's office, the firefighters attempted to stop Clary from driving over a water hose after he had driven around a fire truck blocking the road. Deputies said the firefighters tried to put Clary's vehicle in park to prevent him from hitting someone.

Clary then stopped the vehicle and pointed a .38 revolver at the firefighters, deputies said.

The sheriff's office said the firefighters were able to throw the gun in the yard and secure Clary until deputies arrived.

Deputies said Clary was charged with two counts of pointing and presenting a firearm.

Clary has been released from the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
