SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Simpsonville Police Department says a student has been arrested after making threats at Hillcrest High School.

Officers said the student made threats of harming people on schools grounds in the school parking lot.

Police said a 17-year-old was arrested and charged with disturbing school.

No students or faculty were harmed as a result of the threat, police said.

According to police, no weapon was found in relation to the threats.

Officers said the school is operating as normal.

The student's trial has been set for March 22. He is not allowed on the school premises until he is tried.

In bond court on Tuesday, the student apologized to his parents while he was being handcuffed.

His father said, "Trust me, you're going to learn how deep you dug your grave. Life is hard."
