BLACKSBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Blacksburg City Police Department said multiple people were injured in a home invasion on Sunday.

Police responded to the scene on Whisonant Street in Blacksburg around 10 p.m.

According to Blacksburg Chief Jamie Ham, three armed suspects entered the home and demanded money. Ham said the homeowner was involved in a struggle to get the weapons.

During the incident, Ham said the homeowner was shot in the hand and another resident of the home was shot four times in the torso and hip. The second victim was airlifted to Spartanburg Regional.

The homeowner's pit bull was shot by one of the suspects as well, Ham said.
