SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The SCDOT said work to rebuild and widen 22 miles of I-85 between mile markers 77 and 98 in Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties will require the closure of the Exit 80 entrance and exit ramps on the southbound side of the interstate for several weeks.

The ramps to and from Gossett Road will close Wednesday and are expected to reopen on April 6.

Officials said detours will be marked with signs and traffic control devices.

The detours are as follows:

  • From I-85 South take Exit 78, get back onto I-85 North and take Exit 80 (2.8 mile detour).
  • To access I-85 South from Gossett Road, traffic must take Sha Lane to US 221 to I-85.
