The Burnsville Fire Department said two people are dead after a house fire early Sunday morning.

Firefighters said they were called to the home on Georges Fork Road just after 12:30 a.m. after a fire had been reported there.

After the fire was contained, firefighters said Raymond Edmond Sheperd III, 55, was found dead.

Two other people were in the home and were able to get out of the residence safely.  One of those people, Juanita Banks Sheperd, 75, was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and died from those injuries Sunday evening at the hospital.

The fire was ruled accidental.
