Rainy weather returns before drier, cooler air moves in for the weekend!
Later today, rain will continue at times with temperatures barely budging into the lower 50s area-wide.
Tonight, a wave of heavier rain could move across the area as a warm front makes little progress across the area. A flash flood watch has been issued for this afternoon – Thursday evening for Jackson, Macon, Swain, Graham, and Rabun Counties.
Thursday brings warmer air ahead of a cold front, and as a result, showers and some storms become possible. Some storms could become strong to severe, but the overall severe threat should remain isolated.
The sky clears Friday, but the wind will be a concern…especially in the mountains. There, wind gusts could exceed 60 mph!
The weekend looks fantastic – chilly mornings and pleasant afternoons with full sunshine. The next chance of rain arrives Tuesday.
