Deputies: 1 killed, 1 transported to hospital in attempted murder-suicide in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office is investigating a domestic incident that turned deadly Tuesday evening.

Per investigators, the incident took place at an address on the 200 block of Rock Hill Road in Asheville. The call came in around 7:30 p.m. that a person had been shot.

When deputies arrived on scene they located one person deceased and a second person was subsequently transported to Mission Hospital to receive treatment for an apparent gunshot wound, they said.

Deputies said the deceased succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. 

The incident was determined to be a murder-suicide attempt, the sheriff's office said.
