Rain again today ahead of a windy Friday and nice weekend!
This afternoon, a warmer day is expected with highs in the 60s to low/mid 70s. One final round of rain and a few thunderstorms remains possible until 4 PM as a cold front moves through. There remains a low chance of a few stronger storms in the southern and eastern Upstate.
Overnight, high wind concerns begin in the mountains of the Upstate into western NC where a high wind WARNING takes effect. Winds could gust over 50 mph through Saturday morning! Expect some tree/power line damage, especially given recent heavy rain.
The good news is sunshine will be in full force Friday, so besides the wind concerns, it will be a nice day with highs in the upper 40s in the mountains to low/mid 60s in the Upstate.
The weekend brings frost and freeze concerns in the morning, but the afternoons will be sunny and pleasant with highs in the 50s and 60s.
Average to slightly below average temperatures continue into next week with the next chance of rain arriving late Monday into Tuesday.
