Greenwood School District 50: 4th grade student to be disciplined after found with pellet gun at school

GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Officials with Greenwood School District 50 said a student will be disciplined after a pellet gun was found in the student's possession at school.

District officials said it was reported to Woodfields administration that a 4th grade student had an airsoft pellet gun Wednesday afternoon.

Administration immediately located and secured the airsoft pellet gun, and found that there were no pellets.

The district said school administration contacted local law enforcement to investigate the incident. They found that a 4th grade student had been in possession of the weapon.

District officials said that student will be disciplined "in accordance to the Student Rights and Responsibilities handbook."
