Fugitive charged with 2nd degree murder arrested in Buncombe County

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A fugitive wanted by Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office has been arrested, according to the county's jail website.

Deputies said they were searching for Kevin Mack Shepherd, 44. He’s 5’11” tall, 168 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. Shepherd has ‘Delaah’ tattooed on his left arm, ‘Twilla’ on his right arm, and ‘Shepherd’ on his back.

Shepherd has a gray 1999 Chevy Tahoe with NC plate 22982940 and a silver 2007 Nissan Pathfinder with NC plate PAA3989.

Deputies said Shepherd is wanted for questioning in an ongoing investigation and for pre-trial release violations.

Deputies say citizens should not try to apprehend Shepherd but should call authorities right away if he is spotted. Call the Buncombe Co. Sheriff`s Office at (828) 250-6670 and/or Crime Stoppers at (828) 255-5050.

According to Buncombe County Sheriff's Office's online inmate listing, Sheperd was arrested on Wednesday.

The site listed him as charged with misdemeanor larceny and second degree murder by distribution of drugs, as well as two separate charges for pre-trial release violations. His bond was set at $313,000.
