Deputies: Iva man arrested after stolen motorcycles, drugs, weapons found during search

IVA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Abbeville County Sheriff's Office says a man has been arrested after stolen motorcycles, drugs, and weapons were seized during a search. 

Deputies said they executed a search warrant on Wednesday on York Drive in Iva in reference to stolen items on the property. 

A stolen motorcycle out of Anderson County, a stolen motorcycle out of Due West and a stolen Kawasaki mule stolen out of Abbeville County were found during the search, deputies said. 

According to the sheriff's office, investigators also found 158.41 grams of meth, 91.9 grams of marijuana, pills and three firearms. 

Deputies said 37-year-old Jesse Brandon Powell was arrested after the search. 

The sheriff's office said Powell was charged with the following: 

  • Trafficking methamphetamine over 100 grams 
  • Possession with the intent to distribute marijuana 
  • Possession of a controlled substance 
  • Possession of a weapon during a violent crime 
  • Three counts of possession of stolen property enhancement 
  • Operating chop shop 
  • Malicious damage to personal property 

Powell is currently being held at the Abbeville County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
