MCDOWELL, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A fire danger statement is in effect in McDowell County until 6 p.m. Sunday.

Per officials, another dry day is in store, which means continued drying out of vegetation. Residents are asked to use extreme caution if conducting burns.

Here is the full warning:

FIRE DANGER STATEMENT IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING...

Another very dry day is expected across the Piedmont and Foothills
of North Carolina. Afternoon relative humidity will range from 15
to 20 percent, which will contribute to continued drying out of
vegetation. These factors will lead to increased fire danger
concerns across the area this afternoon.

If you do burn, use extreme caution since
fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.
