The Henderson County Sheriff's Office said Innovative High School was placed on a precautionary lockdown Monday.

Deputies said the school, which is located on the campus of Blue Ridge Community College, was under a code yellow lockdown around 12:40 p.m. due to a "non-specific online threat."

According to deputies, a student notified administrators after a threat allegedly popped up in his Instagram feed during class.

At 1:30 p.m., officials said the lockdown was lifted and students would be returning to regular schedule. Deputies said all students are safe.

Deputies said a 14-year-old student was charged with communicating a threat of mass violence at an education facility. He was later released to the custody of his parents.
