SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office wants to reunite a decades-old Bible with its owner.

The sheriff’s office posted photos of the well-worn book on Facebook Thursday, asking anyone who can help identify the owner to call Investigator J. Ritz at 864-503-4696 or contact Ritz via e-mail.

Inscribed on the inside is the message “to Barbara Quick by Aunt Cora Lee.” It’s dated January 1, 1948.

Deputies said the Bible was found in a stolen van located off of California Avenue. The Bible was among other items that did not belong to the owner of the van.

The posted by the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office has been shared over 300 times.
