CLINTON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Westbound lanes of I-26 have reopened near mile marker 49 in Laurens County after a crash Friday morning, according to Clinton Public Safety.

The crash occurred just after 5 a.m. about two miles west of the I-385 interchange.

Clinton Public Safety Chief Robin Morris said first responders found a car overturned under a tractor trailer.

The driver of the car was trapped and had to be freed. Morris said the man was conscious and talking when he was transported to the hospital via medial helicopter.

Troopers said traffic is being detoured at Exit 51 via I-385 North while crews worked to free the driver and clear the wreckage.

By 7:45 a.m. Morris said the interstate was back open and the detour was no longer needed.
