GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Multiple Upstate sheriff's deputies were on scene of an incident near Greer High School on Friday.

Greenville and Spartanburg County patrol cars were on scene at North Howell Road.

Deputies said they were attempting to arrest Justin Allen Howard, who they say has several warrants out of Greenville County, around 4:54 p.m.

The Sheriff's Office said Howard is believed to be responsible for several property crimes in Spartanburg, and he also had warrants out of Greenville for pointing and presenting a firearm and failure to stop for blue lights.

Deputies said they spotted Howard pulling into the park on New Cut Road - deputies were already on scene waiting on the suspect to arrive.

Deputies said when Howard pulled into the park, they attempted to stop him, but Howard then struck the front of an investigator's truck and left the park at a high rate of speed after doing some damage to the front park entrance.

A sergeant then began pursuing after the suspect. Deputies said the pursuit continued on several roads in Spartanburg County before crossing into Greenville County.

Howard pulled off into a field shortly after crossing over into Greenville County - deputies had a hard time keeping up with him due to Howard traveling in a full-size Chevy truck.

The truck was found stuck down a ditch a few minutes later, and Howard had fled on foot.

A K9 deputy started tracking Howard, and he was found a short time later, hiding.

Howard was taken into custody without incident. Deputies said several charges will be brought against him and he will be booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center. Greenville County was also notified of the incident so their warrants can be served at a later time.
