Union Co. deputies make multiple arrests in undercover prostitution sting

UNION, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Union County Sheriff’s Office said the Tri-County Drug Task Force made seven arrests during a “prostitution suppression” operation on March 8.

Deputies said the suspects either made arrangements to meet with undercover operatives at a designated location to exchange money for sex or in some cases the undercover operatives initiated contact with suspects advertising on websites.

According to incident reports, Bryant Antonio Miller, 29, is accused of offering to trade meth for sex acts. Miller charged with soliciting prostitution, distributing meth, marijuana possession, and possession of a drug without a prescription.

A friend who was also going to be involved with Miller during the act, William Edward Crothers, 71, was also ticketed for soliciting prostitution, reports state.

Deputies said Kerry Travis Rothbone, 51, agreed to pay $120 for a sexual encounter. He was ticketed for soliciting prostitution.

Tresia Alicha Oliver, 27, agreed to meet and exchange sex acts in exchange for $170, reports state. Oliver asked to bring a friend along to watch. Both she and the friend, Sandy Thomas, 39, were charged with prostitution. Oliver was also charged with possession of marijuana, possession of meth, possession of heroin, possession of hydromorphone, and possession of ecstasy.

Deputies said Richard D’Angelo Wheeler, 25, responded via text to a Backpage website ad to meet for 15 minutes of sexual activity in exchange for $40. He was ticketed for soliciting prostitution.

Lastly, deputies said undercover operatives contacted Latasha Boyd via Backpage and arranged to meet and pay $1,000 for sex acts. Boyd was ticketed for prostitution when she arrived at the meeting point.
