MAULDIN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Crews were called to the scene of a 6,000 gallon tanker truck which had overturned in Mauldin on Tuesday afternoon.

The collision occurred on Mauldin Road near Maple Creek Circle involving a Bio-Nomic Services tanker.

Belmont Fire and Rescue was on scene. The Department of Health and Environmental Control was also called to the scene.

Officials say the tanker, which is owned by Bionomics, was contracted by ReWa to haul waste from one of their facilities to the Mauldin plant down the road. The waste was then to be processed into fertilizer.

They said the driver of the tanker was taken to the hospital and released.
