SPARTANBURG COUNTY (FOX Carolina) -

A man with a prior criminal record spanning more than 20 years has been convicted again, according to Solicitor Barry Barnette's office.

In January of 2017, a Campobello family said they paid Carlon Weathers $100 in order to remove bails of trash off of their property. The family also let Weathers borrow a utility trailer to complete the task.

Weathers completed only half of the work, failed to return the trailer, and did not respond to any follow up communication. Upon further investigation, the trailer was never recovered.

Carlon Eugene Weathers Jr., 43, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after a jury decided he defrauded the family out of a trailer that was valued at more than $2,000. He was found guilty of breach of trust at the conclusion of the trial.

Weather's criminal record spanned more than 20 years with multiple convictions for grand larceny, burglary and other property crime offenses.
