ELBERTON, GA (FOX Carolina) -

The Elberton Police Department said an 18-year-old student at Elbert County Comprehensive High School has been arrested and charged with making terroristic threats.

Police said they began investigating Wednesday evening after learning of threats and statements made about “shooting up” the school on March 16.

Around midnight, police said they arrested James Michael Singleton.

Police said Thursday were no other credible threats against the high school and the investigation into Singleton’s case was ongoing.

The GBI is also investigating.
