PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins said a Pickens County man has been sentenced on a charge of second degree criminal sexual conduct.

36-year-old Matthew Jamie Bryant was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The solicitor said evidence presented at the trial established that Bryant sexually assaulted a 17-year-old female at her home in Pickens County on April 5, 2016.

At the time of the incident, Bryant denied being at the victim's residence and said he had been babysitting at his mother's home. DNA testing proved Bryant committed the assault.

Bryant will have to serve at least 85% of the sentence before he becomes eligible for parole.
