CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Clemson University said normal operations would resume Tuesday after a power outage was restored at the main campus.

All classes in Clemson were canceled Monday at the main campus due to the outage.

Initially, the university canceled classes and said offices would be closed through 12:15 p.m.

Just after 10:30 a.m. Clemson announced that all classes for the day would be canceled and offices closed due to the ongoing outage.

Officials said multiple utility poles were down on the Duke Energy line that feeds the campus substation, leaving virtually all of the main campus without power.

"Trees took out a transmission line that feeds the campus," added Ryan Mosier, a spokesman for Duke Energy. "It will be mid-afternoon before we can complete repairs."

Shortly before 7 p.m., university officials said power had been restored.
