The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is asking the community to come out and enjoy a meal to help one of their own as the deputy’s young son battles leukemia.

“…We consider ourselves family. When one of our own is in need, we will stop at nothing to ensure they get the help they need,” said Sgt. Jimmy Bolt in a news release. “So, we ask you to join us in the fight to help little Amari, the son of one of our investigators diagnosed with Leukemia earlier this year.”

Bolt said both Chili’s restaurants in Greenville (located on Woodruff Road and Haywood Road) will host a fundraiser for the Kalu family on Tuesday, April 24.

Proceeds from all sales between 4 and 9 p.m. will go to the family.

“Come out and enjoy some good food and know that each meal you purchase means you are a ‘superhero’ to a little boy in the fight of his life,” Bolt said.

People are also encouraged to wear superhero shirts during their meals.
