TRAVELERS REST, SC (FOX Carolina) -

For the first time we're hearing from an accused killer moments after he's cuffed and placed in the back of a police car.

The Travelers Rest Police Department released dashcam video to FOX Carolina on Monday after the station filed a Freedom of Information Act request.

The video shows the scene unfold outside the Chick-fil-A in Travelers Rest earlier in this month when officers said they found 45-year-old Jason Butler holding a gun to his head outside the restaurant.

Butler was later charged with murder in Rutherford county after police say he confessed to the killing outside the fast food restaurant.

The dash camera video captures conversations between an officer and Butler:

Jason Butler: "It's sick!
Police Officer: "Do you need to throw up?"
Jason Butler: (crying) "I don't think I can anymore."

Jason Butler: I can't believe it...
Police Officer: When was this?
Jason Butler: Last night.
Police Officer: Are you sure that's what you did?
Jason Butler: I'm sure.. it was God Awful!

Travelers Rest Police said Butler confessed to killing his friend, 49 year-old Michael Splawn.

Jason Butler: "I want to throw up.  He's my best friend.  I jumped in a river 28 years ago to save his life and he repaid me by trying to take mine away."
Police Officer: "What was his name?"

Jason Butler: "Michael H. Splawn."

We were there when Travelers Rest Police responded to the Chick-Fil-A earlier this month, surrounding this red Jeep. Inside police say they encountered an armed Jason Butler. Police say his wife had gotten away from the Jeep and taken some guns from Butler.

Jason Butler: "He repaid me by trying to take my life, because he was jealous. "The night before last he tried to break into my house seven times. He come in one time and I let him get away and he shot at me."

Butler is expected to appear before a judge Wednesday morning. Rutherford County Clerk said Butler has hired an attorney.
