Sheriff: Suspect captured after shooting, manhunt in Jackson Co.

SYLVA, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that occurred on Tuesday.

Sheriff Chip Hall said a male was shot in the arm on Dark Ridge Road around noon. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.

After a brief manhunt, Hall said the suspect was captured near the residence where the shooting occurred.
