A Greenwood man is behind bars, charged with attempted murder after police say he shot at another man Tuesday afternoon.

Police say they responded to a call for shots fired on South University Street at approximately 1:30 p.m. where a subject stated he had been shot at by another man.

Officers determined there was an altercation between the two men, and at some point, 21-year-old Ira Morgan pulled out a handgun.

Investigators were quickly able to locate Morgan and place him under arrest. He was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

No one one injured in the shooting, they say.

A booking photo is not yet available.
