BELTON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A man has been charged for driving under the influence in a head-on crash that claimed a woman's life  in Anderson County Wednesday evening.

The crash happened at 10:07 p.m. along SC 20 near Cheddar Road.

Troopers said a 2004 Honda Pilot was heading south and trying to pass another vehicle when the SUV struck an oncoming Toyota Camry head-on.

Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles.

The driver of the Camry died at the scene.

Deputy Coroner Charlie Boseman identified the victim as Frances Dellinger, 74, of Boulevard Heights in Anderson.

Boseman said Dellinger was a Greenville Health System employee.

The driver of the Pilot, 22-year-old Janike Mangle of Simpsonville, was taken to the hospital with injuries.

Troopers said Mangle was charged with felony DUI resulting in death.  He was also charged with possession of marijuana.

Mangle appeared in court for a bond hearing Friday. During the hearing he apologized and told the judge he had a history of seizures.

"I apologize sincerely to the victims or to anyone who was hurt," Mangle said. "I never want to hurt anyone.”

The judge set a personal recognizance bond amount for $615 on the marijuana charge and a bond of $10,000 on the felony DUI charge.
