Deputies investigating fire in Laurens County

CROSS HILL, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a fire that destroyed a camper and damaged a mobile home in the Cross Hill area Thursday morning, according to the Cross Hill Fire Service.

Firefighters said they were called to battle two structure fires on Shealy Circle just after 8:30 a.m.

Firefighters said the camper was a total loss. A nearby mobile home also caught fire.

The sheriff’s office was called to investigate the fire.

The Red Cross said its volunteers are assisting one person with lodging and other comfort items.
