You may have driven by the Hartness property on Highway 14 in Greenville and wondered what was taking shape.

Now, we are getting a look at this new development that is unique to the area.

It's considered a Traditional Neighborhood Development, which means that there are a variety of home sizes and styles, retail shops and restaurants, and space for parks.

Right now, homes are still being constructed. There is also a huge Grand Lawn, where there will be events like farmers markets, concerts and events that are free and will be open to the public.

Clay Driggers is the VP of Development for Hartness. “On the acres we are developing, the idea of a Traditional Neighborhood Development is that you cluster the home sites on the smaller lots to preserve more open space for common spaces, amenities, recreation, those types of things.”

Sean Hartness is the CEO Hartness, and says this is really a community within a community. “This is a walkable community. We have 180 acres of green space so it is a place you can conduct life without leaving this place.”

We're told the entire community will take ten or so years to fully go up, but the first families will move in next month.

This weekend is the Spring Reveal at Hartness where there will be an open house on Friday and Saturday.

On May 18th, from 6-8pm there will be the first "Fresh Fridays on the Grand Lawn Event,” open to the public.
