Deputies: Woman charged in Spartanburg Co. child neglect case

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Officials with Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said a woman has been charged with child neglect.

According to an arrest warrant, 27-year-old Angelica Maribel Olivares of Chapel Ct in Spartanburg was charged with unlawful neglect of a child or helpless person by a legal custodian.

Deputies said that between December 23, 2017 and January 6, 2018, Olivares "did place at unreasonable risk of harm or did cause to be done unlawfully or maliciously any bodily harm to or abandonment of a minor child."

The arrest warrant stated the incidents occurred in Spartanburg County. Deputies said they responded to Greenville Memorial Hospital on January 5, 2017 in regards to a report of possible child abuse.

According to the Spartanburg County Detention Center, Olivares was booked into jail around 9:08 a.m. Thursday, and was released by 12:54 p.m. the same day.
