SPARTANBURG COUNTY (FOX Carolina) -

Dispatchers said multiple fire departments responded to the scene of a crash on Friday.

Troopers said the call came in at 5:25 p.m. They said the crash happened along Lightwood Knot Road at Reidville Road, and initially reported no injuries.

Dispatchers said the crash involved a tractor trailer that had been carrying diesel fuel.

A hazmat team was called to the scene at one point, said dispatchers.

Troopers said the driver, 52-year-old Timothy Williams of Aiken, was traveling in a 2016 Peterbilt truck heading west on 296 when he lost control and hit a ditch, overturning.

Troopers said Willliams was charged with driving too fast for conditions.

DHEC also responded to the scene to help clean up the fuel spill.

Troopers were asking drivers to avoid the area and had detours in place.
