Multiple I-85 lane closures announced in Spartanburg, Cherokee Counties

Officials with the I-85 Widening Project released a series of lane closures starting this week in Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties.

Per officials, motorists should expect the following closures:

  • Lane closures nightly on northbound I-85 from mile marker 80 to 87 AND on southbound I-85 from mile marker 77 to 87. Closures continue now through Sunday, May 6.
  • Continued closure of the southbound exit ramp and two entrance ramps at Interstate 85 Exit 80 Gossett Road. Closed now until May 7. (I-85 traffic desiring to exit at Gossett Road will detour along southbound I-85 from Exit 80 to Exit 78 and then return to Exit 80 via northbound I-85. Traffic on Gossett Road desiring to enter onto I-85 southbound will travel south on the Sha Lane frontage road to Exit 78/US Route 221 and enter southbound I-85.)
  • Lane closures along Gossett Road near Interstate 85 as the contractor paves the exit ramp in this area. Wednesday and Thursday only.
  • Portion of Dewberry Road will remain closed in Spartanburg County, between Exit 80 (S 57 - Gossett Rd) and Exit 83 (SC 110 - Battleground Rd). Closed now until May 15.
