Thursday is National Day of Prayer. Here's where prayer services are happening

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Thursday is National Day of Prayer in the US.

According to the National Day of Prayer website, the theme for 2018’s day of prayers is “Unity in America.”

The Bible verse for this theme is Ephesians 4:3, "Making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."

In the Upstate, events are planned in Greenville and Anderson to mark National Day of Prayer.

First Presbyterian Church of Greenville will a community-wide prayer service at noon, which will be preceded by a special music service at 11:30 a.m. The church is located at 200 West Washington Street in downtown Greenville. A pre-recorded message by Senator Tim Scott will conclude the service.

Pastor Sam Duncan said a prayer service will be held in Anderson County at the Anderson County Courthouse at noon. The courthouse is located at 100 South Main Street.

Noon services will also be held at the following Upstate churches:

  • Fountain Inn First Baptist Church
  • GlorySentral / Grace and Truth Deliverance Church, Greenville
  • Washington Baptist Church, Greer

Springwell Church in Taylors will host an evening service from 6 to 7 p.m. Golden Grove Wesleyan Church in Liberty will also host an evening service from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
