GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Fire officials say a firefighter was injured after a residential fire in Greenville County Thursday evening. 

The incident took place on Windbrooke Drive around 6:00 p.m.

Chief Steve Graham with the Boilings Springs Fire Department said a firefighter was taken to the hospital after a ceiling fell on him. He has first-degree burns on his neck, per Chief Graham. 

According to Chief Graham, it took 30 minutes to get the fire under control.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. 

The Pelham-Batesville and Mauldin Fire Departments also responded to the scene.
