Sheriff Chuck Wright said multiple guns were seized during the week.

“Getting just one gun off the street is great,” Sheriff Chuck Wright stated. “Many came from one stop in Cherokee County. We stopped those guns from being sold illegally and used in crimes.”

Wright said nearly four kilograms of meth was seized, 28 kilograms of marijuana, as well as quantities of crack cocaine and other drugs. $124,933 of US currency was also seized.

Nine fugitives were arrested during the operation. The operation also included 25 felony arrests, and 12 weapons violations.

Deputies were involved in more than1,200 total traffic cases, involving 128 K-9 searches and 249 vehicle searches. Violations included speeding, window tint violations, improper lane change, following too closely, driving left of center, improper passing, turning unlawfully, and vehicle license violations.
