LONG CREEK, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Oconee County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service are seeking information about the assault of a postal employee last month.

On Apr. 10, deputies met with the victim at the Long Creek post office. Deputies said the woman told them that while she was on Spider Valley Drive, a red truck stopped at the intersection for Academy Road.

According to the incident report, the man approached the victim's vehicle to ask directions to the boat ramp at Bull Sluice but once she gave them, he grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the vehicle to the ground.

The man tried to take the victim's pants off, investigators said, and told her "[expletive] no one else would have her."

A passerby stopped to help and grabbed the suspect so the victim was able to get away. The suspect has not been apprehended.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service released a sketch of the man, who they described as approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 180 pounds with dark hair and a full beard. In the last week, the postal service has begun issuing posters with the sketch and description of the suspect.

Officials believe he may have been driving a red Ford Ranger or similar vehicle. He was wearing a dark-colored baseball cap.

A $50,000 reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest and conviction is being offered by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Officials said no actions should be taken by the public to try to apprehend the suspect themselves.

Anyone with information on his identity is asked to contact 1-877-876-2455 (option 2.)
