Group marches for street lights along White Horse Road

GREELEYVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A group of Greenville County residents walked a long stretch of White Horse Road Friday night to make a point on the need for street lights.

The group, led by Traci Fant and her group Freedom Fighters, walked the sidewalks of White Horse Road in vests as the sun went down and into the dark of night.

"The amount of people that walk this road on a daily basis--people walking their dogs, their children, going back and forth from the bus stop to work...there's bound to be someone getting hurt," said Fant.

FOX Carolina reached out to get clarification on the jurisdiction for any decision on street lights.  SCDOT said that it would be left up to the county.  A Greenville County councilman reached by phone Friday night said the decision on street lights would come from the state.

We've reached out for further clarification on who would make the ultimate decision.
