Warmer weather and pop-up afternoon showers and storms will mark the majority of the days’ weather in the week ahead.
As highs reach the 70s later today, scattered showers and a few storms should develop in the afternoon hours across the mountains. While most of the Upstate should escape this activity, there's a small rain/storm chance toward mid to late afternoon. Any and all activity should weaken around sunset.
Tuesday brings similar weather to Monday - the best chance of afternoon showers or storms will be in the mountains with highs in the 70s.
Most of our afternoon storm chances will remain small during the middle and late part of the week and be confined mostly in the mountains.
Temperatures will also surge upward during this time into the upper 70s and lower 80s in the mountains and middle to upper 80s in the Upstate, which will last into next weekend too.
