Man accused of striking NCDPS worker with car at NC prison, fleeing scene

WOODFIN, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A man is behind bars in North Carolina after Woodfin police said he struck a NC Department of Public Safety worker with a car and then fled the scene.

The incident happened on April 10 at the Craggy Correctional Facility.

Police said they worked with NCDPS staff to identify Donald Moose, 53, as the driver.

Moose was arrested in Gaston County, NC on Sunday.

He has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, felony hit and run, and driving while license revoked.

Moose was being held in jail Monday on a $100,000 bond.
