Mountain storms by mid-afternoon, dry elsewhere

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Under a partly cloudy sky, highs reach the 70s today. Most areas will stay dry, but this afternoon brings a chance of scattered rain and storms, primarily to the far western areas of NC.

Wednesday should be mostly dry, but a shower or t-storm is possible in the mountains. Highs will reach the 70s to low 80s.

Thursday will be more humid with a good chance for scattered PM showers and storms, especially in the mountains. The Upstate heats up into the upper 80s with a smaller chance of afternoon or evening storms.

Friday looks mostly dry ahead of a borderline hot, humid weekend. The better chances for afternoon storms will be in the mountains both days, but the Upstate will have a small chance of afternoon downpours as well. Aside from the rain, highs will certainly be in the mid to upper 80s...nearing 90 degrees in a few spots.
