ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Many of us would not be happy campers sleeping on the hard earth without air conditioning or running water. That’s okay because there’s another way to be outdoorsy without having to rough it. That option is glamping and it’s happening in the Western North Carolina mountains near Asheville.

"Glamping," or glamorous camping, offers many unexpected comforts of home. Depending on whether you choose to stay in a vintage trailer, a safari tent or a geodesik dome, you’ll have access to amenities like beds, hot tubs, air conditioning, Wi-Fi or even a refrigerator.

Joanna Cahill, who owns Asheville Glamping, says, “The guests that we have come here not just for a place to stay but it’s an experience. It’s not just a hotel room that you staying at, just sleeping there. You’re really coming out here for the whole experience, a full immersion in nature.”

Joanna says she’s glad to be able to offer Glamping options for every budget. Some of their suites are as cheap as $80 a night. The giant megadome, which sleeps 8, rents for $350 a night. She says they’re always adding new structures and the tree house they’re building next year has already started pre-booking for 2019.
