PELZER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Police said a man was arrested and charged after being found with a bomb Tuesday morning.

Chief Chris Brewer of the West Pelzer Police Department said it all began around 9:30 a.m. when police received a call about a suspicious person at Midway Manor.

Upon arrival on the scene, Brewer said they made contact with 32-year-old Ronald Cape of Williamston. According to police, Cape was on trespass notice and had a warrant out for his arrest.

Brewer said Cape was found with a homemade pipe-bomb on his person, and would not disclose what his plans were with the pipe-bomb.

Anderson bomb squad and Williamston Police Department assisted, and were able to obtain a search warrant for Cape's residence.

Police said there was no other bomb making material found, and they believe this was an isolated incident. ATF was notified.

Cape was charged with assault and battery 2nd and 3rd degree, trespassing and possession of an explosive.
