SPARTANBURG COUNTY (FOX Carolina) -

The Spartanburg Police Department says investigation was underway into a woman's death on Friday.

Spartanburg City Police sent units out to the scene at Duncan Park in Spartanburg around 9 a.m. Officers said two individuals walking along the trail in the park spotted a body in the water.

The female's body was located near the edge of a bank a few feet from the path.

The coroner identified the woman as 23-year-old Brechue Fararri Wiles of Spartanburg. Wiles was pregnant at the time of her death, according to the coroner's office.

Her cause of death has not been released at this time, but the coroner said it was not a natural death.

Wiles' sister, Ivori Mcjimpsey, released a statement on Sunday:

"Right now, we're going through a lot but I would say this: My sister was an amazing person. She was so outgoing, she loved dancing. She was a one of a kind, very unique person who had nice taste in clothes. I will miss her so much. She was loved by many people. It's amazing seeing everyone post about how great of a person she was."

The case remains under investigation.
