ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Officials with Asheville Police Department said the responded to a crash Friday afternoon.

The call came in just after 4:35 p.m., said police.

Officers said the call was in reference to a motor vehicle crash at Sona Pharmacy at 805 Fairview Road.

Police said a BMW sedan had been traveling northeast on US 74 A and left the roadway on the right side, traveling through the parking lot at 801 Fairview Road until it struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle. The sedan came to rest on its passenger side up against the Sona Pharmacy building, said police.

Officers said the driver of the BMW sedan was seriously injured, however a child in the vehicle during the crash was unhurt.

The investigation into this crash is ongoing at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Asheville Police Department at (828) 252-1110.
